ESTATE DISPERSAL

 

  I recently lost my mother, age 89, and I was overwhelmed with the list of things that had to be done.  One of which were the contents of the house in which she lived for over 48 years.  It was an overwhelming experience.  There was “stuff” everywhere stored in plastic bags.  There were stacks of papers, documents, and boxes.  Closets were filled top and bottom with more “stuff”, shoes, and clothing, etc.  Every corner in the bedrooms had boxes, bags, and even more “stuff”.  There were things under the beds and under the tables.
I loved my mother dearly; I fully understand that she was a product of the great depression, and the “stuff” was of some value to her. 

When Lurlene came into the house it was a burden lifted off of my shoulders.  She was professional, personable, precise and caring.  She had a plan and was able to give me an assessment of what needed to be done.  Within hours, I could start seeing a difference.  She not only organized the house, she also organized a yard sale.  Many of the items were sold.  Lurlene was a “blessing!” I thank God for her.

I have a busy teaching career.  Lurlene has always done an excellent job for many years by keeping my primary classroom attractive and organized.  That includes both student and teacher resources as well as bulletin boards and similar displays. What truly amazes me is how quickly she can do these tasks.
